Dave Portnoy, a founder of Barstool Sports, said that there is “obviously a great deal of distrust of the media” during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.
Portnoy’s comments respond to a Fox digital report that CNN employees are concerned about the future of the old most observed wire network.
“It is obviously a distrust of the inherited media,” said Portnoy. “And there are so many different ways to consume media. Whether it’s online podcasts, some good, some bad things, to be honest, you just have to take great care of where you try the information. There are so many different people who talk now and people can access -in so many ways.”
CNN dominated the waves in the 1990’s, leading the coverage in Baghdad and the judgment OJ Simpson. Since then, the early vision has fallen from the network founded by Ted Turner to the third in the valuations.
On Monday, Variety reported that one of the most notable stars on the network, Anderson Cooper, hired the Hollywood agent of great power Bryan Lourd, from the Creative Artist Agency, who may indicate that Cooper seeks to strengthen his contract with CNN or potentially leaving the network completely.
Cooper has been in CNN for more than 23 years.
A staff from the cable news network also said to Fox: “The mood is still sad” and that “people are not true” about what can come after a corporate restructuring expected by their parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
Portnoy explained his thinking behind the change in the media, saying that the Internet has played an important role in the place where people get their information.
“Internet has given a way for people to check and reach their own conclusions,” added Portnoy. “You just don’t have a couple of network television anchors or television chairs that tell you what to think.”
BARSTOOL Sports Empire is a main example of the change in the interaction of people with the media. The strategy of podcast and social networks has promoted a giant sports, with Dave Manning at the helm.
Portnoy’s famous “One Bite” pizza reviews are one of the many bits that put Barsool on the map, including Dave Pizza slices and describing them accordingly. Many of their reviews have become viral and their scores can make or break pizzeries in New York City and all over the country.
Following the success of the Pizza reviews, Dave launched the “One Bite Pizza Festival” in 2023 in Brooklyn, and now plans to host the event for a third year in Randall Island Park this September to test thousands to test their most valued pizza options. The event has been exhausted every time the festival was held.
“As if you like pizza, obviously, if you don’t like pizza, forget -but everyone loves pizza,” Dave said to Fox. “We have the best pizzeries, 40 more. We always add new ones. As I just made this spectacular series of places that was super-viral in New York City.”
“The tickets go on sale on Friday, and September 13 is the real day and, if you like the pizza, you can not miss it,” added Dave.
The Creative Artists Agency did not respond to the Fox News Digital Comments request.
